Mission Statement:

Our mission is to provide art club members with opportunities to express themselves through the creation of artworks and give back to our school and community, using our artistic abilities.

Objectives:

  • Increase art appreciation and awareness in our school and community.
  • Create temporary murals in our school or within our community.
  • Provide art classes for members within our community.
  • Provide support for other school programs with the arts.
  • Plan and present an end of the year art show event for students and art club members.
  • Invite college visits from art schools.
  • Learn new techniques from peer artists.
  • Explore different media.
  • Introduce art learning opportunities.

Targeted Members:

Art club is for students who are interested in the arts; they do not need to be an artist or enrolled in an art class.

Member Dues:

When our school operates under Plan A new club members will be expected to pay $15.00. This money will fund projects and activities. Returning club members will not be expected to pay a fee this year.

Club Meetings:

Club meetings will be held virtually this year until instructed otherwise. Art club members will receive an invitation to zoom through their school email in order to attend club meetings. Club meetings will take place every first and third Wednesday of the month. Our first club meeting will take place September 2nd at 11:45.

Art Club Officers Description:

ONLY seniors and juniors may fill out the application form for our officer positions. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, August 25th. Email Mrs. Bestor ASAP if you are interested in applying for one of the following officer positions:

President- Runs every meeting, is accountable for coordinating and organizing all events and activities. They will assign authority and jobs to other officers but they are ultimately responsible for making sure they get complete. The president needs to be in attendance at EVERY meeting and art club led activity. They also need to be able to meet regularly before or after school with the club advisor.

Vice President- Assists the president in his/her duties. They will preside over activities, meetings, etc. if the president is absent. The vice president needs to be in attendance at EVERY meeting and art club led activity.

SecretaryTakes minutes and notes at all the meetings so they can be posted on the art club website. They record the main points of each meeting and they are responsible for the art club meeting sign-in sheet. The secretary needs to be in attendance at EVERY meeting and art club led activity.

Treasurer- This person is in charge of collecting money for art club dues and activities. They will need to be available 15 minutes before and/or after school. The treasurer needs to be in attendance at EVERY meeting and art club led activity.

Public Relations- Photographs and documents all events and activities. This person will also update our social media accounts and notify our community about upcoming events. The social media representative needs to be in attendance at EVERY meeting and art club led activity.
