Please carefully read all information on this page regarding Ledford High School Driver Education:
 
UPCOMING DRIVER'S ED CLASS
NOTE:  Summer classes are available to Ledford High School, Ledford Middle School, Homeschool and private school students who live in the Ledford area.  Home and Private School students should contact Mr. Joe Davis for registration instructions.
 
The July class will run two weeks, eight days, Monday-Thursday, from 8am-12:15pm.
The July class dates are:  July 13-16 & 20-23***
***The last day of class (23rd) ends at 10:15 for students who have completed all work and time required for the class.  Students owing time and/or work will be required to complete the time owed and the work owed from 10:15-12:15 on the last day of class.  Students may miss no more than four hours of class time.
 
Students are enrolled for the class by birthdate and the oldest 40 registered will be invited to join the class once the registration period is over.  The cost is $65 and covers the class and the behind-the-wheel.
 
Registration will be open from May 4-30, the link provided below is for students to register themselves using their school log in and email account information.  STUDENTS must complete the Google Form to register for the class.  Home school and private school students should email Mr. Davis about registrering.
 
Requests to share the registration form for non-DCS students will not be granted.  Parent(s)/guardian(s) please have your student register themselves using their school log in and DCS student email account.  If students need help registering for the class while at LHS, have them see Mr. Midkiff in Room 119.
 
Only Davidson County School System students attending Ledford High School and Ledford Middle School will be able to register for the Ledford High School Location class using their student log-in and email account.   Home and Private School students contact Mr. Joe Davis for registration instructions.
 
Registering students must check their student email once the registration period is over to see if they are one of the oldest 40 students invited into the class.  Students invited, but not present on the first day of class will be removed from the class roster and will have to register for another class offering.
 
STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO REGISTER THEMSELVES AND TO USE THEIR DCS STUDENT EMAIL  ACCOUNT. THEY SHOULD CHECK THEIR STUDENT EMAILS REGULARLY FOR ANY CLASS INFORMATION.  Parent/Guardian access to use the form will not be granted.
 
Ledford High and Ledford Middle School students:  When registering for a class, each student must provide the student's full name, and student's Davidson County Schools Email Address and some other information used by the instructors to make contact with students and parents when necessary. Please make sure the student name and email address is entered correctly in the registration form or you will not receive information about the class roster and payment.
 
Students must be no less than 14.5 years old on or before the first day of class. This means students must be 15 on or before January 13, 2027. (That is NC law) 
 
Registration Begins:   May 4, 2026.
No payments will be accepted until registration window is closed and students will be notified after June 1 as to whether they are one of the oldest 40 to register.

Students will receive a class invitation after the registration window closes by student email only if they are accepted into the class.  The School Cash Online link will be shared with the oldest 36 students registered for the class at that time.

Home and Private School students are allowed to attend summer classes at the local high school, but during the school year, they must attend class through Davidson Early College High School.

Private School or Homeschool Students/Parents:
 
Private and Home School students should read the section below (Non-Davidson County School System students) before registering for the class as there have been some recent changes in our Driver Education program. 
 
 
 
Non-Davidson County School System students:
Students that are NOT Davidson County School students should use their home/personal email to contact Mr. Joe Davis.  Mr. Davis will share instructions for all non-DCS student registrations for those students not physically attending a Davidson County School.  There will be a link on the Davidson Early College High School (DECHS) webpage regarding private and homeschool student registration for the next class offered.  Please check their site to gather class information through DECHS for non-DCS students to register for the next class at DECHS.   
 
Note:  Non-DCS students will be asked to register for Driver Education through the program at Davidson Early College High School for the classroom portion.   The next class at DECHS will be a September Class.  The dates have not been set, but will be available by early August.  
 
 
 
Please specify whether your student is homeschool or private school in your email to Mr. Davis because he works with two different schools.
