Driver's Education

Drivers Ed        Due to a combination of weather and instructors available, we are behind on the BTW for students and will be working the next few weeks to get caught up on the BTW. That being said, the next class will not be held until later in March/April. The Driver Ed class registration will be open through March 13, 2026.  LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

UPCOMING DRIVER'S ED CLASS
 
The next class dates and times for students from Ledford High School and Ledford Middle School. 
This is NOT for home or private school students.  
 

Class Dates (All dates listed are required for the 30 hour class.  Class time will be 3:45-5:45 for the dates listed below:
         Friday, March 27
             Monday, March 30-Thursday, April 2
             Monday, April13-Friday, April 17
             Monday, April 20-Friday, April 24
Students are not allowed to miss the first day of class if accepted into the class. Students are enrolled for the class by birthdate and the oldest 36 registered will be invited to join the class once the registration period is over.  The cost is $65 and covers the class and the behind-the-wheel.
 
Registration is open, the link provided below is for students to register themselves using their school log in and email account information.  STUDENTS must complete the Google Form to register for the class.
 
Requests to share the registration form for non-DCS students will not be granted.  Parent(s)/guardian(s) please have your student register themselves using their school log in and DCS student email account.  If students need help registering for the class while at LHS, have them see Mr. Midkiff in Room 119.
 
Only Davidson County School System students attending Ledford High School and Ledford Middle School will be able to register for the Ledford High School Location class using their student log-in and email account.  
 
Registering students must check their student email once the registration period is over to see if they are one of the oldest 36 students invited into the class.  Students invited, but not present on the first day of class will be removed from the class roster and will have to register for another class offering.
 
STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO REGISTER THEMSELVES AND TO USE THEIR DCS STUDENT EMAIL  ACCOUNT. THEY SHOULD CHECK THEIR STUDENT EMAILS REGULARLY FOR ANY CLASS INFORMATION.
 
Ledford High and Ledford Middle School students:  When registering for a class, each student must provide the student's full name, and student's Davidson County Schools Email Address and some other information used by the instructors to make contact with students and parents when necessary. Please make sure the student name and email address is entered correctly in the registration form or you will not receive information about the class roster and payment.
 
Students must be no less than 14.5 years old on or before the first day of class (That is a NC law)

No payments will be accepted until registration window is closed.

Students will receive a class invitation after the registration window closes by student email only if they are accepted into the class.  The School Cash Online link will be shared with the oldest 36 students registered for the class at that time.

Private School or Homeschool Students/Parents:
 
Private and Home School students should read the section below (Non-Davidson County School System students) before registering for the class as there have been some recent changes in our Driver Education program. 
 
 
 
Non-Davidson County School System students:
Students that are NOT Davidson County School students should use their home/personal email to contact Mr. Joe Davis.  Mr. Davis will share instructions for all non-DCS student registrations for those students not physically attending a Davidson County School.  There will be a link on the Davidson Early College High School (DECHS) webpage regarding private and homeschool student registration for the next class offered there and it will be posted below.  Please check their site to gather class information through DECHS for non-DCS students to register for the next class at DECHS.   Note:  Non-DCS students will be asked to register for Driver Education through the program at Davidson Early College High School for the classroom portion.   The next class at DECHS will be an April/May Class.  The dates have not been set, but will be available by the end of February.

Mondays-Fridays April 13-17; 20-24; 27-May1 
 
All 15 days are required. Classes are two hours per day for 15 days. One two hour make up session will be held after the class is completed.
 
For Non-Davidson County School System students, the classes during the school year are completed through Davidson Early College High School.  For Summer class offerings, contact the area high school where you live for their class dates.  There are usually two classes per semester at DECHS.
