Mr. Curtis Randall Rickard
Business Teacher, Ledford High School
- Graduate, Ledford High School
- B.S. Business Administration, Elon University
- Master School Administration, Gardner Webb University
After working 14 years for USAirways, I transitioned into public education. I am beginning my 18th year of teaching Business Education at Ledford.
I expect and require 100% attention and participation everyday in my classroom. No one is allowed to not participate, and taking notes is mandatory when I am lecturing and giving notes. Being unprepared is not acceptable in the business world or in my class.
All makeup work for excused absences is required within five school days of returning to school in accordance with Davidson County School policy. Students must take responsibility for their grades and complete assignments and tests missed after returning to school -- I do not remind students. Most makeup work will have to be completed outside of regular classroom time (either after school or during the student’s lunch period). Plan at least two days in advance to do makeup work and make arrangements with me to be in the lab.
I make every attempt to maintain grades in PowerSchool in a timely manner. I utilize CANVAS (an electronic learning management system) for file distribution, assignments, quizzes, etc. Grades in CANVAS may or may not be included in PowerSchool.
