English Department Summer Reading Assignment 2018-2019

In an effort to encourage and foster reading and thinking, Ledford High School’s English Department is implementing a Summer Reading program in our Honors and Advanced Placement classrooms.  Our belief is that reading is, indeed, fundamental, and students grow from continued reading.

For the coming summer, honors and AP students are expected to complete the assigned reading for their respective grade levels.  On the first few days of the 2018-19 school year, students will turn in a Major Data Worksheet to their English teachers.  A MDW collection location will be determined, assigned, and announced for students who have English in the spring semester.  Students will receive a grade for the MDW turned into teachers.  Major Data Worksheets may be found on the LHS home page.

Teachers from each grade level will work in conjunction with one another to use the summer reading assignments appropriately in classroom activities at the beginning of each semester.  Additional information and the required worksheet can be downloaded below.  Please see the following chart for your assigned work.
